The Call
Our love for the "Laguna" began when we joined our church on its first major missions trip to support the church plant there. On that trip we fell in love with the people and the city.
What happened from that point was really quite natural. We simply kept on visiting the little church because we loved it so much, and as our love grew we realized the tremendous need there is there - especially for people to reach out to some of the poor neighborhoods with the love of Christ. So of course the next logical thing was to ask ourselves how we might be able to go and help on a long-term basis
The Vision
The goal for the Vineyard of the Laguna is to reach out to the middle class. The aim is to build a strong self-supporting church which will be able to reach out with Christ's love using local resources, rather than depending on support from outside.
We are excited to begin work in the "Laguna" because God has promised to do amazing and wonderful things there. We believe that His desire is for this "Laguna" to be set ablaze, for the riverbed that is dry now to be flooded with the river of God's Spirit.
The Work
To put it simply, we will be joining with the pastor, Daniel Oyarsabal, and working to support and build the church in the Laguna. We will be taking part in ministry to the poor, teaching children, and helping with a food assistance program for the children. We will also be reaching out to the middle class, befriending whoever God puts in our path and hosting small groups in our home.
